A small service-apartment house on the Thoothukudi–Tirunelveli Highway. Air-conditioned rooms around a pillared courtyard, Athangudi-tiled floors, home-style meals from the 8 Chairs Kitchen, and the attention only six rooms allow.
At the heart of the house is the mutram, an open courtyard ringed by red-and-ochre pillars, with a small shrine at its centre. The floors are hand-laid Athangudi tiles, the doors are teak, and the rooms open onto the light.
It is a home first and a hotel second: quiet, clean and personal, with a reception that knows every guest by name.
Six air-conditioned rooms in three kinds, each with its own bathroom, a work desk and Wi-Fi. Good for a night between flights or a month on a project.
